INTRODUCTION

FINAL PROJECT

In this course, we need to choose one of the five game videos given by the teacher to make and process the sound.

Fig1.1 The video we need to select,Week 9(11/24/2024)

We need to find objects that make sound in our lives, record them, and adjust them in the software to fit the game picture.

PROCESS

First, I selected the video.

Red Goddess Inner World

I have downloaded this game before. Its charming visual design and fantasy setting of the background world are very attractive to me. The character design is very creative, which further highlights the surreal feeling of the game.
The game combines action-adventure, puzzle, and parkour elements.
The gameplay is full of challenges.

Sound finding and recording

Fig1.2 Bell,Week 10(01/12/2024)

When the protagonist marked the place, the landmark changed from red to green. I was going to use the sound of the bell for recording. The flash of marking the place was as loud as the bell. I thought it was very appropriate.

Fig1.3 Cloth,Week 10(01/12/2024)

When the protagonist jumps, there should also be corresponding sound effects in the game. After trying a lot of sounds, I think the friction sound of the cloth is very appropriate. The friction sound of the cloth is similar to the wind, which can reflect the speed of the protagonist's take-off.

Fig1.4 Foam box,Week 10(01/12/2024)

I'm going to add a lot of sounds about foam cartons to the audio. When the protagonist jumps from a tree, there is friction with the leaves. Foam cartons can easily simulate a similar friction sound and reflect the sound of leaves clattering.

When the stone changes, the sound is usually heavy and sharp. Foam cartons can be responsible for the heavy part, and hitting foam cartons can produce a dull impact sound.

Fig1.5 Frozen meat with plastic bags,Week 10(01/12/2024)

When the ice pick trap pops up from the ground, the sound should be penetrating. I am looking for a sound of heavy objects falling to the ground to simulate. The frozen meat in the refrigerator is very suitable for both weight and plastic bags to simulate the sound of ice fragmentation.

Fig1.6 Gas stove,Week 10(01/12/2024)

When the protagonist fired the flame, the first thing I thought of was the lighter and the gas stove, both of which could have the sound of fire directly, but the lighter was too low for my equipment to record clearly, so I decided to use the gas stove.

But since there was no gas stove in the house where I lived, I asked my mother, who was far away at home, to record a video for me.

Fig1.7 Toy pig,Week 11(08/12/2024)

When the protagonist touches the gold coin, there should be the sound of the gold coin shaking. I found a little pig's tumbler toy in a friend's house. It can ring a bell when it shakes, which is very consistent with the empty inspiration of my impression that the sound is shaking in the air.

Fig1.8 Toy car,Week 11(08/12/2024)

When the protagonist passes through the recording point, the recording point emits gradually upward light and small light, which is very easy to remind people of a clear and pleasant sound, so I found another toy car in a friend's house that can make a crisp sound. The keys on the car can make a pleasant sound.
Fig1.9 Note,Week 11(08/12/2024)

When the protagonist walks on the grass, there will be a loud rustling sound. I have tried to record the sound of walking on the grass, but because it often rains and the sound is not clear, I found the note as a substitute. When I shake or touch the note, the sound is very similar to the sound of the grass being trampled.

Fig1.10 Paper towels,Week 11(08/12/2024)

When the protagonist fires the flame, it should be accompanied by the sound of the flame burning out. When I used the napkin on the table, I was surprised to find that its sound was suitable to match the flame. Later, I also applied it to the time when the stone fell, because there will be similar fine sounds when the gravel falls.

Fig1.11 Seat handle,Week 11(08/12/2024)

When the stone mechanism is raised, there should be a clack when the machine is operating, and the seat handle in my room can make a similar sound.

Fig1.12 The ground,Week 11(08/12/2024)

When the protagonist is running on the road, he should make the sound of collision and friction between shoes and the ground. I chose to record footsteps on a carpet that can amplify these two kinds of sounds.

Fig1.13 The stones,Week 11(08/12/2024)

The sound made when the stone door fell, the first thing I thought of was to simulate it with stones. I used a few stones by the side of the road to let them fall to the ground freely, so as to simulate the stone door.

Experiences

The Diversion Sound Extend given a comprehensive encounter in planning and executing sound for an intuitively medium. Working in Adobe Try out permitted me to investigate the specialized viewpoints of multitrack altering and sound impacts, whereas the mixdown handle tried my capacity to synchronize sound with visuals consistently. Making an sound storyboard and diary assist improved my understanding of arranging and reporting workflows. In general, the hands-on approach reinforced my specialized and imaginative aptitudes.

Observations
All through the venture, I watched the basic part of organization and arranging in sound generation. The sound storyboard served as a guide, guaranteeing that each sound component was deliberate and well-placed. I too taken note how inconspicuous alterations in sound impacts, such as reverb or EQ, may essentially upgrade the authenticity and enthusiastic affect of soundscapes. Also, this method showed how important it is to work together and get feedback from others, as their suggestions improved my work.

Findings

One important discovery was how sound affects storytelling and how it makes you feel more involved. Good sound design helps the images look better and also shows feelings and atmosphere, making the whole experience more enjoyable.I found that including and changing sound impacts like strides, foundation commotion, and supportive sounds made the diversion feel more genuine and curiously. Moreover, it was imperative to discover a great blend between being correct with the subtle elements and being imaginative to urge extraordinary comes about.
