    EXERCISE
This exercise is aimed at eliminating the noise in human voice recording. We chose one of the five clips given by Mr. Razif to record, adjust and add music.

I chose Part 3, event planning.

    PROJECT 3: AUDIO STORYTELLING

Project 3 requires us to dub the picture book, add background music and effect sounds, and make the final audio through appropriate adjustments.

Mr. Razif asked us to randomly choose one of our favorite stories. I chose the well-known Snow White.

At first, I used the ai synthetic voice, but Mr. Razif told me that the ai synthetic sound was too insipid and did not have the emotional expression needed by the picture book, so he suggested that I re-record the human voice.

I re-recorded the human voice, and I tried my best to adjust the recording method in order not to make the sound seem empty.

According to the general content of the story, I looked for some background sound effects for audio production to help my picture book have a better performance and highlight the plot characteristics of the story and the psychological and linguistic expression of the characters.

Because there is no professional recording equipment, so the recorded sound has  many defects, such as too much noise, bursting sound and so on, which affect the sense of hearing, so I carried out some noise reduction and so on.

Continue to adjust, while other sound effects need to be adjusted to the appropriate volume and effects to ensure that they complement each other without conflict with the human voice.

Add fade in and fade out to reflect the plot change of the drawing book, and at the same time help each track to be more unified, making the audio sound more smooth, natural and harmonious.

    Final Audio Presentation

Our story needs picture book pictures to demonstrate. I saved all the screenshots of the Snow White picture book found on the Internet and imported it into the Pr software for editing. I arranged the pictures in the software according to the order of the picture book.

Because the length of the audio clip is not consistent with that of the picture book, it needs to be adjusted, and because the duration of the audio can not be changed, I adjusted the length of the picture corresponding to each audio to make them connect smoothly.

Because of the characteristics of the picture book, it is a kind of reading material, so I think that there should be some transition between each page. I set the effect of gradual page change in Pr to simulate the page turning of the book, and adjust the transition time according to the audio time, so as to make the picture book more real and vivid.

Because Mr. Razif asked us to make a video that lasted no more than three minutes, I edited it.

    FEEDBACK

    Week 9

The voice frequency I use should not use ai dubbing. I can find native English speakers I know or dubbing myself, so the voice is more contagious. What the picture book needs is emotional audio.

    Week 10

Finally, the audio can be rendered with some background music, but it can not overshadow the human voice, which is still in the main position.

    Reflection

    Experiences

In the process of adjusting the audio, I encountered some technical difficulties. I finally successfully solved many problems through the query of network materials, but some places still could not be solved after adjustment. Finally, I decided to re-record some clips.

    Observations

It is very important to master audio and narrative rhythm. In the process of dubbing picture books, you need to constantly switch your emotions and roles, express them with sound according to the content of the story, and the use of sound effects and dubbing complement each other. They can effectively render the atmosphere and rhythm effect, and effectively increase the sense of participation of the audience / audience.

    Findings

This project expands my understanding of the use of dubbing and sound effects, learns how to refine a pure voice, reduces noise and ambient sound, exercises my ability to adjust audio, and improves my professional skills. Not only that, I also began to think deeply about how to use sound to express deeper emotions in order to achieve a better narrative effect.
