Project 2 : Visual Analysis

- Recap Task 2 brief
- Write a 300- to 350-word visual analysis of the selected design (refer to Visual Analysis lecture notes and guide).
- Include reference links where applicable.
PHASE 1: OBSERVATION
Observation means closely looking at and identifying the visual elements of a design, trying to describe them carefully and accurately in your own words. Do not read beforehand about the design at all.
The observation phase is about looking, thinking, and finding good language to communicate what you notice.
PHASE 2: ANALYSIS
Analysis requires you to think about your observations and try to make statements about the work based on the evidence of your observations.
Think about how the specific visual elements that you've identified combine to create design principles that complete that work of design/art, and the effects on the viewer.
How are your eyes led through the work and why? Apply the design principles knowledge you have learnt.
PHASE 3: INTERPRETATION
In this final phase, your observations, description, and analysis of the work are fused with facts about the design work (and in some cases the designer) and historical context that you find in trustworthy published sources. What is the meaning of the design? What was the purpose for it to be created?
Visual Analysis
Task 2 Brief :
This assignment requires you to survey, examine, archive and examine the existing art/design work you chosen in Assignment 1. You'll ponder the plan standards found in that work, as well as the measure, arrangement, reason, adequacy of the plan in connection to the UNSDG objective that you just have chosen.
The following is a detailed visual analysis of my selected works:

PHASE 1 : OBSERVATIONThe background of the picture is bright red, and in the picture is a huge white fishing net. At the bottom of the fishing net, there are hook wires that have been used for a long time, which form several Arabic numerals. From top to bottom, they are marked 134,125,116,36, and all the way to the bottom of the picture. At the bottom of the picture is the Chinese character "towards extinction" and the English word "EXTINCTION", which echoes the theme. It indicates that overfishing will eventually make marine life extinct.(90)
PHASE 2 : ANALYSISThe use of Symbol,the lower half of the net is marked with some numbers, which symbolize the number of fish caught, the closer to the bottom of the net, the smaller the number.
This work combines World and Image, and the fishing net symbolizes overfishing, and the lines on the net form numbers that symbolize the result of fishing.At the same time, the work uses a sharp Color Contrast, using the Emphasis and Dominance, the background represents the blood-like red of the catch, and the white of the fishing net can better reflect the desolation of the captured ocean, coupled with the huge Scale and Proportion of the fishing net in the picture. formed a strong visual impact.The Movement is used，the shape of the fishing net from top to bottom, from wide to narrow, plays a role of visual guidance.
This work also applies Rule of Thirds, and the fishing net is located in the middle of the intersection.The principle of Asymmetrucal Balance is also used cleverly.(173)
PHASE 3 : INTERPRETATION

Minimalism removes the gorgeous pretence, abandons the tedious design, and sets off the theme. The minimalist style makes the whole design transparent and bright, thus showing a sense of cleanliness.（Yang Shuguang，2022）
The first work is created against the background of frequent Internet fraud, and part of the image of the Chinese character "bureau" has evolved into a rope to describe the person trapped in the trap.
The second work was created during the epidemic period, and the children who have not returned home for a long time look forward to the way home.(92)
